Position Summary

The individual in this position will be the first point of contact for prospective College of Southern Maryland students. This interaction includes providing information and admitting, advising, registering and supporting students through their first classes at CSM. The Enrollment Advisor's time will be spent working with prospective and current students. Recruitment efforts require a good amount of time away from the office by participating and attending college recruitment activities such as high school visits, college fairs, scholarship fairs, and community events. This position is also responsible for coordinating the Special Admission programs at all campuses and advising and registering students in the program.

- Coordinate, conduct and participate in various college recruitment activities such as high school visits, open houses, registration events and parent nights both on CSM campuses and in the tri -county area.
- Communicate and market CSM programs and courses.
- Participate in events in the community which support the mission of the department and the college.
- Coordinate recruitment and enrollment activities for the Special Admissions programs (Gifted and Talented, Dual and Concurrent, Homeschool, Enrichment, Dual Math, Dual English and others) to include high school presentations (public and private schools), parent nights and college fairs for the Tri- County region.
- Provide academic and career advisement to students in the first semester.
- Meet with first-year students in individual appointments to discuss CSM programs and their ultimate goals at the college.
- Manages county territory, including all recruiting and conversion activities.
- Coordinates, conducts and participates in various targeted college recruitment activities and presentations such as but not limited to: high school visits, college fairs, open houses, registration events on county campus or other CSM campuses and in the tri-county area.
- Coordinates high school testing schedules with county high school liaisons and CSM testing staff and enrollment counterparts.
- Communicates CSM programs and course information on a daily bases either by telephone, email or individual meetings.
- Serves as first point of contact for potential and incoming first-year students via incoming calls, voicemails, and emails. Handle inquiries by parents, school liaisons or community members.
- Coordinates and conducts campus tours when requested.
- Provide registration assistance for new and special admissions students.
- Provide first advising and first course selection.
- Participate in and support activities in other departments that relate to the objectives of the recruitment plan.
Additional Duties:- Performs other related work as required.
Minimum Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree
- Two years of work experience in the Student Services area in a collegiate setting.

- Evidence of advocacy for student academic success.
- Excellent communication and human relations skills.
- Ability to work with professional integrity and discretion.
- Experience in the use of integrated data systems.
Physical Requirements:
The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
