Job Description
Journeyman Electrician
An AllCom Global Services Project contains various subsystems that will be installed, tested and placed into service. This requires experience as an installation person to understand the system design, industry standards, installation methods & processes. Applicants must have knowledge of data enterprise and telecommunication environments.
Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities Requirements:
- NFPA70: National Electric Code
- Conduit installation and commercial wiring methods
- Hot work installation practices
- Secondary distribution for AC & DC power
- Industry standard wiring methods and procedures
- Outside Plant (OSP) fiber, copper & grounding installation requirements and standards
- Inside Plant infrastructure providing common system functionality (cabling, racking, power, HVAC)
- Site installation preparation
- Job estimating
- Data Center installation
- Knowledgeable with most industry standards supporting the Data and Telecommunication environments
An AllCom Journeyman will use the following tools:
- Basic hand tools and crimpers for installation of electrical circuits, panel boards, conduit, etc.
- MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio and Power Point
- Laptop computer for testing, equipment configurations and commissioning
- Test equipment for fiber, copper and power equipment
Additional skills:
- Electrical design of electrical equipment, transformers, switches, motors and generators
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications and wiring diagrams
- Work safely on and around high voltage energized equipment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Prepare MOPs as required
- Add or remove wiring and connections on equipment and hardware for common systems equipment
Education/Experience:
-
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of installation in the data and telecommunication markets
