Ameresco has a new opportunity for a Construction Project Manager based in California to join our Federal Team in support of the design, construction, and successful implementation of multimillion-dollar large scale power generation projects. NOTE: This position will support projects on-site and will require a 75-100% travel commitment.
Responsibilities:
Provide daily management and supervision of renewable energy construction projects.
Support design and preconstruction teams with development, estimating and scheduling activities.
Ownership of completion schedule development and planning activities. Work directly with scheduling team to develop project CPM schedule.
Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control and project delivery on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Provide oversight of the implementation of the Project Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) program.
Plan and organize project work, including management of the critical path and all critical path activities, to assure all work is executed in accordance with the contract documents. This includes the submittal schedule, material deliveries, schedule updates, work progress/productivity and associated changes.
Provide project reports, documentation, technical assistance, support, and collaboration.
Manage project teams and resources, including expenditures and job cost accounting processes for accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, and tracking.
Manage and control field costs and costs associated with all subcontract work.
Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes.
Foster positive and effective business relationships at all levels and project phases.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Minimum of seven (7) years electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power construction project management experience with at least three (3) years focusing on large solar and power generation projects. In depth knowledge of the construction processes including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.is required.
Additional Qualifications:
Full project life cycle experience (development, preconstruction, construction).
Substation installation management is desirable.
Renewable energy construction experience with increasing levels of responsibility including leading and managing construction teams and resourcesonhighly complex andmulti-site projects.
OSHA 30-hour Certification or EM-385-1 Certification required
Proven experience implementing OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple project deliverables and foster positive business relationships.
Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.
Computer software proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project required.
Computer software proficiency with ProCore or equivalent construction industry Project Management Information System required.
Ability to provide on-call response beyond traditional business hours.
