This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite on Campus and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science is dedicated to creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all. The School focuses on health, diversity, inclusion, and social equity in everything we do. We believe this starts in the workplace, where we actively strive to ensure a sense of belonging for everyone and honor the idea that through our differences, we are better together. In working to fulfill that vision, we are comprised of more than 125 primary appointed faculty and academics, 200 staff members, and 25 secondary appointed faculty and provide mentorship and instruction to 750+ BSPH undergraduate major students and 225+ postgraduate students across six degree programs as well as a clinical residency. We conduct research and instruction in public health disciplines such as Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Climate & Environmental Health, Community Health Services & Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Behavior, Health Equity & Justice, Health Policy, Public Mental Health & Substance Use, and Technology & Precision Health, totaling ~$255M in grants and contracts and housing five research service cores. We engage in research and teaching collaborations across the University and the community at-large. Partnerships with the community and with health agencies are fundamental to the School.

The HWSPH Health Professions Education Specialist 2 (HPES2) Biostatistics Graduate Program Coordinator works with and supports the Program's HPES3 Coordinator in providing comprehensive Program administrative support and advising and general student support. The Biostatistics Graduate Program currently encompasses a PhD program and an MS program which are overseen by two faculty Program Directors, with the support of several faculty committees and resides within the School's overall education programs administrative and committee structure. The Biostatistics HPES2 support the full range of administrative and student advising activities involved in the Biostatistics graduate program including recruitment and outreach activities, admissions, course coordination, scheduling, student advising and issue resolution, accommodations, tracking student progress and compliance, student wellness and enrichment, career advisement, alumni, program operations, maintaining databases, serving as consultant to leadership and committees in analysis of data and formation of procedures and in guidance on policy related to the program, assists with strategic planning, working with central offices, reporting to institutions of higher education nationwide, preparing and disseminating analytical data reports and surveys to evaluate program objectives, and on program reviews and accreditation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Four (4) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related.

  • Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.

  • Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.

  • Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner. Strong communication skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations. Demonstrated understanding of the importance of ensuring an equitable, inclusive, and diverse working environment, with the ability to work as a part of a diverse and collaborative team. Ability to communicate and work productively with anyone regardless of background, including those with and without technical knowledge or experience.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain trusting, effective, productive, and cooperative relationships with individuals at all levels within the University, students, and those in the community (partners and families), and work collaboratively with all to understand the needs and desires of all parties and incorporate their ideas and adapt to their needs. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Communication skills to effectively inform and guide others to needed actions and outcomes.

  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars/schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision. Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively to meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment. Experience in scheduling events with many participants, events logistics, reservations, ordering. Demonstrated skill in making sound independent judgment.

  • Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues. Experience with productivity programs including MS Word, PowerPoint, GoogleDocs, etc.

  • Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Two (2) or more years of related work experience in degree program operations or university general administrative services.

  • Experience with and theoretical knowledge of graduate and undergraduate curriculum and administration, admissions, advising and counseling, grading, transcript, student academic records management, verification of enrollment, graduation and commencement, student fees, fee assessment and refunds, financial aid, OSD, student health, curriculum and general catalog updates, course scheduling, classroom management, and post-degree employment opportunities.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work occasional after-hours and weekends based on business needs.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,099 - $91,914 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.22 - $44.02

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
