Class Description
CCBC is currently seeking an individual prepared to teach various Chemistry lecture and lab courses including introductory, general, and organic chemistry. Fifteen credit hours of instruction per semester, office hours, college and community service, and ongoing professional development are required. The position is located on one of our campuses but may require teaching classes at other locations scheduled during days, evenings, or weekends.
Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to student learning. Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching, experience at the Community College level, and those who through education and experience demonstrate ability to teach across multiple Physical Science disciplines. Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field with significant relevant coursework required. Must have two years of teaching Chemistry at the high school level or above.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students. Experience working with diverse populations in a learning environment and experience with the use of technology in teaching science.
Must be able to operate Chemistry laboratory equipment.
Must be prepared to teach Introductory, General and Organic Chemistry.
